Support comes from familiar faces, not an anonymous helpline. An on-call team who know your family and the child personally are there whenever you need them, day or night.

A Valued, Supported Profession
Fostering with Evergreen is professional parenting. You're valued for your skill and commitment, guided through a thorough assessment, and backed every step of the way.
Recognising Your Role
Fostering is professional parenting, and it's valued as such. For each child welcomed into your home, the professional fee is £43,000 to £46,473 a year, usually tax free.
This isn't a price for a child. It's the recognition, support and resources that make it possible to offer a safe, therapeutic home and to meet each child's individual needs well, every day.
The Assessment Process
Becoming an approved foster carer is a thorough, supportive process, not a test. It gives us time to get to know you properly and answer your questions, never to rush you.
What the assessment involvesWhat Does the Fostering Assessment Involve?
A thorough process, with someone beside you throughout. Becoming a foster carer usually takes around four to six months, giving us time to get to know you, answer your questions and explore how fostering could work for everyone in your household. Timings can vary depending on individual circumstances and how long checks take.
Getting to know you
After your first conversations and application, you'll meet an assessing social worker. Through a series of relaxed conversations, usually including visits to your home, they'll learn about your life, relationships, experiences, strengths and reasons for wanting to foster. You'll talk about the children you may be best suited to care for and the support your family would need.
What is Form F?
Form F is the assessment report your social worker prepares with you. It brings together your conversations and the required checks to build a rounded picture of you and your household. It's detailed, but you won't be handed a form and left to work it out on your own. The assessment also includes references, health information, home checks and DBS checks for the adults in your household, plus preparation and training along the way.
Your Journey Lead is with you
Your Evergreen Journey Lead stays in touch throughout the process, helping you understand what happens next, explaining what information is needed and giving you space to ask questions as they come up. You'll also have your assessing social worker to guide you through the Form F conversations. We want you to feel informed and supported at every stage.
Panel and the decision
When the assessment is complete, the report goes to a fostering panel. You'll have the opportunity to attend and talk with the panel, which makes a recommendation. Evergreen's decision maker then makes the final decision about approval.
